Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing gets a modern makeover in Anyone but You, which is now streaming online.
Starring Sydney Sweeney as Bea and Glen Powell as Ben (a play on the Bard’s original characters, Beatrice and Benedick), the box office darling is available to buy or rent on digital at Prime Video, Apple TV and other transactional video-on-demand platforms.
Directed by Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends With Benefits), the film sees Bea and Ben initially hitting it off on their first date, until it all falls apart due to miscommunication. They reunite one year later at the wedding of Bea’s sister, Halle (Hadley Robinson) and Claudia (Alexandra Shipp), the sister of Ben’s best friend, Pete (GaTa). The nemeses decide to pretend to be a couple to make Ben’s ex-girlfriend want him back and to convince Bea’s parents that there’s no future for her and her ex-boyfriend. All the while, their fellow wedding guests conspire to make the duo believe that the fake couple has found true love.
